Bio

Being present, engaged, and attuned is imperative for any therapist, especially those who work with children and teens. I believe children want to grow for the better and can do so when they learn the right tools in a compassionate and supportive relational environment. And when it comes to children, the primary medium by which they learn, communicate, grow, and heal is play. I deeply enjoy providing children with a reprieve from our often frantic and disconnected culture by creating a dedicated space for them to slow down and experience relational connection.

As a mother, I have personally experienced how challenging and rewarding caring for a child can be. Parenting has cultivated in me a deeper love and appreciation for children and a deeper compassion and appreciation for parents and caregivers. One of my goals in child therapy is to closely collaborate with caregivers so that, as their children grow, they too can better understand, care for, and connect with their child.

I structure every session with each individual child’s specific needs in mind. I aim to help them develop skills that enhance their natural potential for growth, personal agency, and emotional healing. Through this child-centered therapeutic approach, I have seen children grow in confidence, resilience, and ability to relate to themselves and others with more compassion and awareness, resulting in a healthier self-image and stronger bonds with their caregivers.

I have over twelve years of professional experience providing care and counseling in nonprofit settings. I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families of diverse cultures in school settings, groups, in-home, and one-on-one. I have worked with children with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment disorders, and those who have experienced adoption, divorce, and domestic abuse.

I believe a person’s childhood experiences have a tremendous impact on their future, and I am thankful for the opportunity to provide children and teens with early intervention, prevention, and helpful tools they can carry with them for the remainder of their lives.

In my free time, I enjoy going on adventures with my husband and daughter that often end up at the beach or zoo, grabbing coffee with friends, playing tennis, and treasure hunting at yard sales.
